Not Reliable.

I bought this, used for 25 minutes before first jam. Cleared the jam. 5 minutes later it jams again. Take the whole unit apart, put it back together, use it for 10 minutes, jams again. It’s a garbage product. Do not buy.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Master craft hammer tacker

Do not buy this !! I bought it after reading the positive reviews , but the reviews I didn't notice till after using the tool are 4 years old already. This tool is completely useless , as the staples (t50) fit way to tight inside the tool not allowing the spring to push them forward and it jams everytime . Very frustrating !

No, I do not recommend this product.

NOT as Represented on the web site

I ordered this product and when it was delivered it was not this heavy duty model AT ALL. It was a much cheaper model that only holds one row of staples and is not very sturdy. They have changed the manufacturer and are selling a much cheaper model at the same price. Not cool !

No, I do not recommend this product.

Stopped working in the middle of a job - staples no longer come out and no way to take it apart to fix it. Worked very well while it worked

Q: Can you use a hammer in conjunction with this? I just want to place this hammer tacker on a wood shim in precise position then use the hammer to hit the tacker to insert the staple. I assume you can since I see a metal rounded knob on the end?

2 Answers
  • A: That knob(s) is a bolt which holds the metal weight which also holds the staple tooth. It's likely you may end up cracking the bolt after repeatedly doing this. Something like the Mastercraft Sure Shot Staple/Nail Gun (http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mastercraft-contractor-sure-shot-staple-nail-gun-0577943p.html#.VAjWDkjB2BU) may work as well and is less than $5 more. Additionally this hammer tacker only takes up to 3/8in long staples, which may be too short to go through a shim.
