Great 10” compound miter saw at a great price!

Great mid-size saw! This saw was on sale for 200.00 (clearance). I upgraded from 7 3/4 to the 10inch. Been using for past couple days for baseboard. Excellent saw, upgraded the blade and no issues. Full compound options, more than adequate power and bevels are very smooth. Super easy to operate and does a professional job even with intricate cuts (bullnose corners etc. ).

Q: My new saw is not square from the front to fence. It’s noticeable while cutting 10” board to size and confirmed by a 24” square. Certified repair shop said that might be a built in tolerance issue. Replace it and then maybe live with it. Any thoughts

Q: When I tighten the screws to secure the sliding fence, I am not getting a true 90 degree angle, the fence seems to push out at the top and I am getting less than 90. Can this be fixed?

A: Called Mastercraft and was advised that it is common that the fence is off by 1/32nd or 1/16th, more like 1/8th and there is nothing they can do besides me returning the unit.

Q: Why there is no sawdust in the dust bag? When I use the saw I have sawdust all over the place but nothing in the dust bag. Is the saw defective?

A: they rarely work, so my answer is whenever possible I hook my shop vac to my saw and that seems to cut the dust down by 2/3 ish. Only a suggestion.

Q: What is the maximum size of baseboard that this saw can do in a vertical direction. Someone asked a similar question but I was interested in it using the back fence and use the mitre direction in order to get the required angle not the bevel function.
