The Mastercraft Self-Priming Drill Pump can convert almost any portable drill into a high-capacity pump that can empty a sink, pool, skimmer, or aquarium. This powerful accessory can pump water at rates of up to 300 US gallons per hour, to a maximum distance of 45’ (13.7 m). This Mastercraft drill pump is even self-priming at distances of up to 9’ (2.7 m), and can easily mount to a board to provide additional support when pumping. This adaptable drill set includes multiple hoses and clamps that allow you to secure the pump with ease, and can connect to any tubing with a ½” (1.3 cm) diameter.

Usually works pretty well.

Used it to pump water from a lake into a tank on the dock. Usually primes itself fine but sometimes needs to be started level then tilted up. Feed hose is very short (3 feet?) so it can be a bit awkward. I added a longer hose (6 feet) since it says it can pump up to 9 feet vertically.

Returned it - waste of time.

Tired to used the pump to help transfer fluid out of a pit. It failed to work at all. It's not "self priming"nor can it "lift 6ft" like it says on the box. Don't waste your time. Luckily it wasnt full price either.

Serviceable pump on sale

Found it difficult to prime, but worked well enough once it was. Used garden hose connections because the included hoses & clamps break seal too easily causing loss of vacuum.

A: I do not have mine mounted, but there are a couple of through-slots at the base of the pump. You could mount to a board using zip ties or feed a 1/2” metal strap through the holes and screw them down.

Q: Should the auto clamps be positioned and tightened over the ridge that the tube fits on or next to it? if on the side of the ridge; which side? on the inside of the ridge closet to the pump or the side of the ridge further away from the pump?

Q: Might be a stupid question but can I use it to start a siphon? Like get it started without using my mouth.lol Trying to drain some nasty water from a pool ?

A: It could be used to start a siphon, just setup the pump so the inlet is as close as possible to the water source (which is the proper way for all pumps) and once the entire hose is full of water, pinch the outlet part of the hose close to the pump so no water can flow, disconnect it from the pump outlet and submerge it in the water, release and let the water siphon.

A: Primed and pumped immediately. Make sure you have the drill direction going in the aproppriate way for it to turn and suck water out insteaf of pushing air in.

A: I assume any drill will work since you can adjust the drill to clamp on the end of the pump. It connects to the drill the same way you would connect a drill bit. It has the end of a drill bit type piece of steel coming out of it to chuck the drill on to

A: no it's not food safe. Inside the pump is some sort of waterproof grease. I highly doubt it's food grade grease.

Q: Can I transfer furnace oil with this? I only need to transfer about 100 gal.Fo $15.00 I don't care if it eventually hurts the pump as long as it would do this one job.
