    It works

Nice little unit. Bad plastic smell for first 30+ hrs of run time. Dissipating with further use. Pacaging indicates if automatic shutoff is activated due to overheating… you can only restart with assistance from “the agent” which I presume is the final retailer? So essentially if it shuts down it’s self terminating. Other units I’ve owned reactivate after cooling down.

Q: What safety features does this heater have? Examples: tip-over switch, touch sensor, overheat protection ...

    • A: Shuts off when reaches heat setting. When the unit reaches extremely high temperatures the heaters thermal fuse will shut off permanently for safety. Best not to leave unattended, like most electrical devices.

Q: What kind of clearance is required? I'm thinking of getting this for the work shed, but I want to be sure we have enough clearance for safe operation.

    2 Answers
    • A: It says 3 feet clearance, but don't waste your money on this heater. It won't warm anything up more than 1 foot away!

Q: What is the minimum temperature setting

    2 Answers
    • A: It does not give specific temperature given that it works by sensing the temperature of the space it is in. There are only 4 settings and that includes OFF. The HI setting (double flame far right) has the highest intensity and will heat up fast. The lower setting (single flame) is used once the room is comfortable and then the temperature dial on the right would be dialed back until the heater shuts off. You have now set the temperature you want the heater to maintain in that room.

Q: What is the CFM of this portable heater? Mastercraft Ceramic Barrel Heater Product #43-6145-8

    2 Answers
    • A: Honestly, I wouldn't be as concerned with the airflow as much as the heat output. With 120v heaters there is a significant trade off between airflow and heat produced. I've had higher airflow heaters, but the element can't keep up with the fan, and precious available watts are used up pushing lukewarm air around!
