Poor quality switch

3 uses, that’ll 75 minutes and the switch failed. The sander won’t turn on. The switch appears to be the “ weak link”. Until then the sander met my expectations. This is my first master craft product failure so maybe I got a dud.

Good basic home sander

I have had the sander for about three years. Purchased it originally to sand my deck. Have used it one for that and small odd jobs around the house since then. I find it to meet my general household needs. What is disappointing is the dust collector in it. The cloth separated from the plastic housing. No way to fix it or replace it. So now I have an orbital sander that owns dust everywhere. Makes for a lot of mess. Would look at units with a hard plastic dust collector.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Dust Collection How well does the dust collection work, and does the bag contain the dust?

A: The dust collection doesn't collect all the dust, but it does catch a lot in the attached bag. Be sure to empty it regularly, as dust blows out of the fan vents when the dust bag is full.

A: I found it was better to have sander turned off before contacting the work surface as the disk is spinning way too fast and can gouge the work surface.

Q: Exactly how is this a "polisher"? Does it come with buffer pads or are they readily available at CT? Otherwise, the advertising is misleading, at best.

A: Its classified as a polisher since you are able to put bonnets on the pad and yes those are standard bonnets that can be purchased at any local hardware store.

A: The speed dial has been deleted, and the random orbital sander, or as I refer to it "high speed grinder" now spins the pad so fast that when you place it on the wood it gouges the wood.

A: Mine does exactly the same and it's inefficient. It's just like it loses all it's power at the slightest pressure, actually even without pressure, just on contact with the surface.

A: Yes, I have seen the velcro pad replacements sold at a local lumber supply store. Bring the sander with you and check the replacement to obtain a correct match. The pads sell for around $12.00
