Magic Wrap's emergency repair kit contains an ingeniously stretchy rubber tape that spirally wraps itself around objects to seal or mend them for both outdoor and indoor repair jobs. The polybutyl rubber compound activates when stretched and then adheres only to itself, so you can use it to fix plumbing, electrical, automotive or sporting equipment issues, as well as general household repairs. The tape works on clean or dirty surfaces and even underwater, making it a versatile tool for any mishap that demands a quick yet dependable fix.

Scam Magic Tape. Don't buy.

Bought this today to stop a small dripping leak in my PVC pipe as the edge of ptrap is a little stripped during snake operation. I used a $3 Chinese tape last year and it held the same spot really well aka no leak but ran out and decided to give this a try in a rush. Huge mistake and $15 down the drain. Get a cheap one from A M Z N

Q: Did the job for what may have been a huge plumbing repair bill. However now that I want to use it again, I'm darned if I can separate the white backing from the tape. Anyone have ideas?

A: Cut the tape at an angle on the roll where the it is easier to grip the white backing. Twisting the tape helps as well.

A: It is suggested, when starting a new roll, to cut the roll on an angle, so you can more easily grip the white backing from the black tape… and you can twist a bit, on the angle cut, to get the backing started to come off.
