    great fan

we use this fan to cool our bedroom by blowing out pulling in cool night air, works great very quite at least in slow speed. It would be nice to be able to reverse the direction with a switch rather than reversing the installation in the window. very pleased with the product.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Works well

Whether pulling in air or pushing it out, this fan works quite well. Have had to clean it a few times but always effective.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Gets the air exchanged

We have two of these for our two bedrooms. This works great to exchange the air, and move it in one room. It is a bit loud, even on the lower setting (OFF, low, high). We either switch it off or on low at nighttime. We have a big swiveling standalone fan which we had in front of our balcony door in the living room this summer - nothing happened. I would rather get a third of these window fans for next summer.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Not everything I had hoped for

First of all - you should know that your window has to be at least 22.5" wide if your window slides up, or 22.5" tall if your window slides to the side. Also, I didn't realize that "manual direction reversal" meant pull it out of the window and put it back in in the other direction. I was expecting a switch. Could be quieter.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: is the motor water resistant? or the whole unit? As the title says, is it or the motor water resistant so i dont have to take it down every time when it rains?

    2 Answers
    • A: I think that very light misty rain at the window will not hurt this fan, but I would not want to get the motor wet, especially when the fan is running. If you have to take the fan down every time it rains, then you probably have rain coming in onto your window sill and possibly the floor also, none of which is good. So if there was heavy rain, I would move the fan and close the window.

Q: I would like to use this fan to suck/pull air out of the room. Will this fan do the job? There are windows on the opposite side of the room. I want to move the hot air from the ceiling out of the room. The window I'd like to put this fan is up high. I know the fan will blow air but I want to know if it will suck air out of an area ??

Q: Do you have to remove the window screen to install this fan? Or do you just prop it up in the window in front of the screen?

    2 Answers
    • A: You do not have to pull the window screen out to install. Installation is very easy. The downside is that it doesn't push or pull enough air.

Q: is this battery powered or does it require an electric outlet connection?

    2 Answers
    • A: There is no battery power option for this item. It must be used with an electric outlet.

Q: can this fan be placed vertical or just horizontal

    2 Answers
    • A: Technically it could be placed vertically, however it was not designed for it. The base has two small legs that attach to it to help it stand. These legs won't attach to other sides. The two ends are quite thin so it might not stand on its own. But if you are able to wedge it between something or find a way to keep it vertical, it would still operate. Note: the speed adjustment is on the top. If you put it vertically it would be on one of the sides.

Q: Will this fan remove humidity from my bedroom

    2 Answers
    • A: Unless the air you're pulling into the room (either from outside or from the rest of the house/building) has lower humidity this fan won't help. A dehumidifier or window air conditioner would probably better suite you.

Q: what is the smallest window this will fit in?

    1 Answer
    • A: The fan should be into a hung sash window, with a minimum height of 12 inches and a minimum width of 22.5 inches, or a slider window with a minimum height of 22.5 inches and a minimum width of 12 inches.

Q: Can the two fans blow in opposite directions independently of each other? So that it would draw outside air in and push inside air out at the same time.

    • A: No it cannot.

Q: Will this fan fit in a window that measures about 20 1/2 inches? Those measurements are from outside sill to outside sill on the window. Does the fan sit on the inside of the sill, or the outside?

    1 Answer
    • A: it sits on the window sill and will fit windows 21.65 inches to 34.65 wide.
