One unfortunate weakness

Bought two of them and had to return one as they interfered with each other, (either remote would turn both outlets on/off), and there is no way to change the code for unit. The one we kept works well enough, but we are very disappointed that not only does this limitation exist but there is no indication of the fact on the packaging and only limited reference (to the fact that you can't change the code) in the instructions.

Q: If my neighbor has one and turns his lamp on or off, will the lamp in my house go on or off? Can the devices be programmed to be dedicated to control a single lamp or outlet?

A: No the remote cannot be programed to control a single receiver. One remote will activate two lights/outlets, but depends on the distance between the transmitter (the remote} and the the receiver (the lamp) mine seem to work at a max distance of 60 feet or so, but could be more or less depending on how many walls etc in between transmitter and receiver. Best bet, buy one give it a try, if it doesn't work you can always return it. Hope this helps.

Q: How can you configure the remote to light different lights. I have 2 separate lamps and either remote lights both lamps at once. Are there channels?

A: The devices do not differentiate between outlets One remote can control 2 or three outlets. If your neighbor has a device, he will be able to turn your lights on and off and you can do the same to your neighbor. Poor design.

Q: CT Team: 2 of the 3 images associated to this product are incorrect. Images 1 & 3 show the unit accepts a 3 prong plug, which was what I was looking for. The item I received was in fact the unit shown in image 2 and it only accepts a two prong plug.

Q: I bought two of these and hooked it up as per instructions. My light goes on by itself and I turn it off and it automatically comes back on. After we go back and forth a bit - it ususally stays where I want. Is it deffective? they both do this??

A: This is a fixed code system. If two receivers are purchased, the transmitter will control the both together at the same time. With that being said, the two lights should be all on or all off. For your situation, the lights going on and off, is not normal, the product might defective. The unit can be returned to the store if is within the warranty period and exchanged for a new unit.
