Perfect replacement for my Gas Fireplace thermostat

The heating contractor put in a battery powered thermostat meant for heating and cooling - and more often than not, it did not work for my gas fireplace- so we basically abandoned using the gas fireplace. One day recently, while fighting with the old thermostat, trying to get the fireplace to light, I noticed that it was a simple two wire (on-off) connection. I checked on the CTC website for a thermostat for a gas fireplace and found this one - works perfectly!

Q: Does it have an override that will keep it shut off even if the temperature goes below 7 degrees?

A: Hi Benjinho! The Honeywell Economy Linevolt Thermostat does not come with wiring, you will want to go with an 18-gauge sized thermostat wiring. Hope this helps!
