One of the best out there!

Awesome unit! The last Honeywell large room unit we bought like this one was almost 20 years ago. We had two of them, running every day for almost 20 years... can you believe it?! One is still working but one stopped finally. RIP little buddy. Hoping this one will give us another 20 years of solid use!

weird smell comes from unit

I bought an open box with an unused product, filters were still in their packaging; disinfected it thoroughly but when i installed the filters and turned it on, the stink coming out of it was unbearable, so I unplugged it, took it apart , fabreezed the charcoal filter, checked if the unit had signs of prior use- it did not. Left it running outside in the foyer while burning an incense to cover the ungodly smell. I am giving it few more hours until I decide if I return it . Maybe it is a "dud" , smelling like an clogged toilet and Indian spices, if that makes any sense - but to get a thing that allegedly eliminates odours... by covering them with another, or what ..that's not why I took a risk going out in to a store for.
Also it is very bulky and noisy at the max setting, but when on lowest, you can't hear it at all. The 2 stars are for hope...
I will update if the problem goes away and accord a few more stars, or remove them all

Hello. Your unit can give off odours due to new filter odour. The best way to eliminate the odour from the unit is to run unit outside on high for 1 hour. This will air out the filter and remove the odour. Moreoever, please refrain from spraying any chemicals on the filters.

I just bought this after looking around for a while. I compared a lot of units from big stores and online but I found this to be a powerful purifier for the size and price. Love that it has a true hepa filter, high CADR for allergens, 4 speeds (very quiet on speeds 1 and 2), can run continuously or on a timer, very light (I can easily move it from room to room if needed) and not as bulky as others for such a large room purifier. I will have to update if it helps with cat allergy symptoms after using it for a while.

Works Well But...

It seems to work well. Bought if for the bedroom. Mainly for cooler months when windows are closed and the air gets dirty. Here's the problem. If you use it in the colder months it blows COLD AIR. So you are COOLING the room while PURIFYING the air. Leave it on too long the room gets very cold. Especially in winter. So I quit using it. Should have a Heating function with these things to blow warm air in colder months instead of turning rooms into refrigerators

We've had this unit for about 9 months, and it makes a world of difference to the air quality in our home. The purifier filters out cooking odours and totally freshens our home safely - unlike air fresheners which only mask odours and are often toxic. There are several different speed settings and an added bonus is a timer that allows you to set it for up to 8 hours of constant operation. It is relatively lightweight, so portability from one room to another is easy. A great machine!

A: We will be happy to clear up some confusion. This unit uses 1 Carbon Pre-Filter that needs to be changed once every 3 months. The unit also uses 2 True HEPA filters. These filters only need to be changed once every 12 months of use. Additionally, the Carbon Pre-Filter comes as a large sheet that needs to be cut to fit your unit. It will have a template with it, and from the large sheet of the Pre-Filter, you will be able to cut 4 Pre-Filters sized for this unit (or 1 year's worth of Pre-Filters). Q: How will I know when the filter needs changing, as I don't plan to use it all the time. I do plan to use it in the summer if/when we get smoke for a week or so, and occasionally during the winter.

Q: Where I can buy the replacement True Hepa filters for this unit? Why do you sell a product that you do not sell replacement parts for??? I bought this unit over a year ago but have not been able to find the proper Hepa nor the proper pre-filter for this product. Please send me the answer ASAP!

Q: Where can I buy the filters for this? What filters does this need, and where can I buy them in Canada? It seems to need the R filters which Canadian Tire does not stock!
