This blender has a appalling design. The foods doesn't blend adequating and the food remains intact despite prolonged use and its 700-watt power. The cup leaks over the edges. The blades are inefficient at cutting. Even after repeated washing, stubborn residue remains stuck to the bottom. Highly not recommended...

I use the blender to specifically make smoothies with. I love that I chop my fruits and vegetables minimually, it takes care of the rest.

A Great Multi-Use Blender for Home Use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This multi-use blender is great for home use. It has a thick 40 oz glass jar which can go straight in the dishwasher. I like that it does not feel fragile and it is easy to clean. Speaking of cleaning, the blender jar separates easily to break down for washing. Its plastic lid and base are exceptionally easy to clean, which to me is a value. My ultimate test for any blender is how well it blends ice or frozen fruits and veggies for making smoothies. This one passes the test as seen in the accompanying photos. The motor did not struggle at all while fully crushing frozen ingredients to my liking. One last thing I appreciate about the design is that it is slim and not too high. The blender fits on my counter top well when in use (it would fit under a cabinet if needed), and does not take up a lot of space when stored. My family enjoys using this blender.
Yes, I recommend this product.

A: 700-watt of peak blending power according to HAMILTON BEACH. Anyone with ANY knowledge in electrical engineering will know that "peak blending power" is a far cry from continuous useable power. I would venture to say that a more realistic figure would be 400 to 500 watts. Using peak power is for a millisecond and how much food gets blended in a millisecond

Q: is it a universal thread/mason jar fit? I know most of the Oster blenders still fit the regular mason jar mouth. Do you know if this one does as well? Also, which other blenders will fit a regular mason jar top? thank you

A: it's not universal. The lid is probably an 11/64th die cut, but it's an injected plastic mold, so it could conceivably be any thread they felt like making.

A: It appears to be. Heavy thick ? borosilicate glass. Very durable handles boiling soup and thick frozen smoothies easily
