    SAVED MY APARTMENT!!! 5 Stars...

I live in East York, just east of downtown Toronto. Somehow, bed bugs became a presence in my apartment and I wasn't sure where to turn. I came across this product online and began by applying it to my mattress, around the legs of the bed, under drawers, in the creases of my couch, under my bed, in and in various creases and crevices around my unit. It took some time but through hard work and dilligence, they died out over a month or so. The powder is exactly as described. When this product comes into contact with bed begs it dries their bodies out. Although it is non toxic, it's drying effect applies to human skin as well. It may irritate the body if you cake it onto your bed like I did. But it was totally worth it. Trust me... That was one of the scariest chapters in my life, but boy was I relieved. Bear in mind that reducing clutter is key. Fortunately I didn't have many spaces for them to hide. Also, combat the problem as soon as possible. If they proliferate, getting rid of them becomes much harder.

    Hello Animel18,
Bear in mind that the (Bed Bug Killer dust) diatomaceous earth alone will not be enough to treat your bed bug infestation. While it works great at preventing bed bugs from moving throughout the walls, or for creating a safe area, you should heat treat your belongings whenever possible and use diatomaceous earth as an aid in managing the problem. While diatomaceous earth does not kill the bugs immediately (it can take 7 to 17 days) it does have long-lasting, effective results. PremierHomeGardenProducts

Hello, Our Green Earth Bed Bug Killer dust contains Diatomaceous Earth which is a great tool to use in your fight against bed bugs. It’s an all natural, non-toxic barrier to bed bugs that can both kill them and prevent them from moving freely throughout your house.
However, diatomaceous earth alone will not be enough to treat a large bed bug infestation. While it works great at preventing bed bugs from moving throughout the walls, or for creating a safe zone, you should also be heat treating your belongings whenever possible and use diatomaceous earth as an aid in managing the rest of your dwelling.
While diatomaceous earth can start to work within 48 hours, (it can still take 7 to 17 days in some circumstances ) it does have long-lasting, effective results. Thank you PremierHomeGardenProducts

Q: Is this food grade diatomaceous earth? Research indicates that non-food-grade DE is unsafe for the treatment of bed bug infestations. Is this food grade DE?

    • A: Green Earth Homecare Bed Bug & Crawling Insect Killer Dust contains the active ingredient Silicon Dioxide, also known as Diatomaceous Earth. This active is a naturally occurring, soft, siliceous sedimentary rock that is easily crumbled into a fine off-white powder. It consists of the fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of hard-shelled algae. We do use a food grade Diatomaceous earth, as well as two food grade attractants of yeast and honey. Diatomaceous Earth does not control insects by toxicity, but by cutting action. Once the powder scratches, or cuts the insect it literally dries them up causing death within as little as 48 hours. Our Diatomaceous Earth products are safe to use around your children and pets, provided the products are applied in a manner that will avoid inhalation of the dust.

Q: How easy is it to inhale this product? Is this product safe enough to put along the baseboard and leave? We will obviously need to use the bathroom and this product is a powder, so I am worried how easy it will mix with the air and thus be inhaled? Thanks

    1 Answer
    • A: Our Diatomaceous Earth products are safe to use around your children and pets, provided the products are applied in a manner that will avoid inhalation of the dust. It is safe to apply DE to cracks and crevices around counters, walls, baseboards, box springs, and mattress (where linens or covers will be used after), or other areas where insects may hide or colonize. Simply direct the point of the container into cracks and crevices, and give the container a light squeeze. If too much is applied, simply take a damp cloth and wipe it over a larger area, working the dust into the cracks and crevices, and removing the excess.

Q: Does this contain anything besides diatomaceous earth? Can I put this around my lettuce plants to keep slugs away?

    1 Answer
    • A: Green Earth Homecare Bed Bug & Crawling Insect Killer dust contains 90% Silicone Dioxide (Diatomaceous Earth) plus two food grade attractants. Regrettably as each pestcide label is considered a legal document and using this product in the veggie garden is not listed on the label, then we cannot recommend it.
