Great product

Bought two units of this A/C, one for my bedroom and the second for my living room. Both units worked flawlessly for 3 summers despite my heavy use as I am really intolerant to hot weather before selling both units as I moved out of province.

Error in manual caused 3 hours of pointless effort

I have been using this now for almost a week. The unit works as expected and is a bit quieter than the unit it replaced. I would normally have rated this item a 4 star but I cant for the following reasons.
1. The manual stated that the "top mounting rail" and "side retainers" had to be installed from inside the air conditioner case after removing the "base pan". I followed the instructions and it is physically impossible to do so as the top rail is punched not tapped for screws. It can only be installed from the outside.
2. The "top rail gasket" is not punched. The manual shows it as punched and describes it as punched but it is a strip of foam insulation. The manual says to stick it to the underside of the top rail but it is not self adhesive nor is any external adhesive supplied. Not that it matters as the mounting screws tangle and shred the gasket since it is not punched.
No, I do not recommend this product.

il arrête jamais,sa dit arrête automatique sur la boite mes ses pas vrais . Quand on est rendu a lire le livre pour sa voire que il na pas de fonction auto off sur le ventilo juste une low pour économiser désoler mes se n'est pas un énergie star . J'ai deux autre qui son des frais énergie star quand la température est est a 20c toute arête pis 5 minute après le ventilo repars pour vérifier si il a besoin de climatiser si il na pas besoin il arrête . SA SES UN VRAIS ÉNERGIE STAR.

A: i just buy ac sililar to that one and still no draining hole under it . sad isnt it . tha fan shoot water on the radiator but still if it rain and it get loaded, wont it break the fan .....? and for the information it is not told in page 4 of the manual all it give is befor you start , electic instalation, tools needed and caution at page 2 of the manual all they say about the draining is :A storm window frame will not allow the ac to tilt toward the outside, and will keep it from draining propely . sad isnt it

Q: Does the air conditioner turns off automatically when it reaches the set temperature?

A: If the air conditioner is in the continuous mode, it will not shut down. If the unit is in the manual mode, the compressor will stop when the set temperature is reached, but the fan may stay on, to continue recirculating the cool air...

Q: What is the warranty on this product?

A: One year parts and labor on the entre unit and 5 years parts only on the sealed system (compressor, evaporator, condenser and tubing.) Both of these warranties constitute a return to a Canadian Tire store if the failure conditions are met.
