    Eureka Airrest Classic mat

We bought 2 of these matts a few years ago but afraid they were a big disappointment. For the first few nights it was heaven to sleep out in nature on hard surfaces inside a tent. Then both started leaking air and after numerous attempts at gluing the seams let out all of the air with in a few hours ruining a good nights sleep when most needed to get thru the next day of hiking. Also the blow in tubes are not designed at all well as you need to shut them off while blowing inside your mouth. When I complained to the manufacturer it was suggested to mail them back to Ontario from BC which would cost more than they were worth to me. Sorry just not happy in any way and will soon replace them with another brand.

No, I do not recommend this product.

un peu étroit, mais protège bien du froid du sol et est suffisamment épais pour donner une bonne nuit. Et le gonflage/dégonflage est pratique et facile.

    Very comfy mattress!

We initially looked at the "original" inflatable mattress from a named brand for car camping as well as trekking. The alternative comes at a minimum of $100 so the price was a clear argument to try out the Canadian Tire alternative. Overall we love them! Here's an overview over pro's and con's: + Very good price + We fit 2 into the trunk of our car, an when rolled up they are good for backpacking. +They come with 2 elastic straps, a bag and a repair kit. + They are really as thick as indicated (5cm) + They are good even at cold temperatures, keep you nice and warm from below. + Easy to de-flate and pack. - To really get them to the described thickness you have to inflate them actively, they self-inflate rather slow. - If inflated too much can feel a bit hard. - The nozzle to inflate them could be a bit smaller. +/- They are not lightweight but at 1.2 kg still okay for backpacking

    Yes, I recommend this product.

It's a lot cheaper than any thermarest or MEC brand self-inflating pads, yet it's easy to inflate, it's thick, comfortable, has a durable feel, and rolls up relatively small when folded in half first.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: How does it self-inflate? how does it de-flate for easy packing and storing and carrying? How does it de-flate for easy and light packing, storing and carying? The question is regarding the Eureka self-inflatable sleeping mat.

    1 Answer
    • A: There is a large intake valve allows for better air flow for inflation/ deflation. The open cell inner foam expands rapidly to original size for self inflation. To pack it, you must roll it while letting the air out, then you can put it into the sack.
