I just bought this today to compliment my new bbq. It is a very good product, its heavy duty prongs provide stabilty and the motor is bigger than the others. Highly recomended by this bbq backyard chef :)

poor quality mounting bracket

This was reasonable to install, but mounting bracket interferes with the lid on the side burner. Cooked a 5 pound chicken and the weight bent the bracket holding the motor 10 minutes into cooking. I was able to make a temporary fix to continue cooking. The chicken turned out great, but it was a pain to monitor to make sure the motor did not fall off. I don't know how it can be rated for 50 pounds. I recommend getting a good brand, as Cuisinart is now junk.

Q: Can the BBQ lid be closed all the way when using the rotisserie to BBQ a chicken or roast? Is there enough clearance to add a pan of water under the chicken to catch drippings?

A: We are not able to close the lid fully, there is a very small gap. The drip tray in our BBQ catches all the drippings but if you wanted to place a thin one underneath you could but this might affect the evenness of the cooking.

Q: Would this rotisserie fit on my Weber Genessis? I want to cook a 30lb pig rotisserie style but this is the only rotisserie so far that holds more then 20lbs. Just wondering if it will fit my Weber Genessis BBQ

A: The vendor advised they cannot confirm if 85-3689 can fit Weber Genessis BBQ as they didn’t test on this model. Unless we can provide them the dimension of grill, especially the hardware and mounting brackets part to them to determine.
