couldnt keep up to keeping 2 deep cycle 6 volts in series charged as 12v to keep my furnace running when i was gone for a week, but u sure if that was a fault of the panel or just excessive demand from the cold snap

Q: I have purchased this solar panel, but i may be getting a 6v deep cycle battery can this solar panel still be used to charge a 6v battery or do i need something else or different?

A: Assuming your 6V batteries are high capacity (180Ah+). A 7W solar panel will doing nothing to charge such large capacity batteries. A 7W solar panel would barely be enough capacity to just maintain a full charge in such batteries (i.e. defeat the natural self-discharge).
Realistically, you should aim for 200-400W of solar panel to recharge a pair of 6V deep cycle batteries (assuming that's the batteries you have).

Q: Do I need a charge controller for this solar panel? If not, Can I leave it connected all winter to a 12v deep cycle marine battery? Just to keep it topped up?

Q: Does it have overcharge protection?

A: The 7 Watt solar battery trickle charger is a low amperage charger/maintainer. This means your battery does not require an overvoltage protection.

Q: Will this run your 800 GPH Bilge Pump which draws 3 amps if hooked up direct with no battery in between?

A: It would be border line. Remember the panel has to be 90 deg to the sun vertically and horizontally. Also if a hot day, efficiency goes down. Colder the better..

Q: Can these units be hooked up in tandem

A: The panels can be. But better to get a larger controller and parallel connect the panels. They have isolating diodes built in so there is protection. You might be better going to a larger panel. The efficiency is better. Go Amphorous crystal type. It will produce power with moon light.
