Unplug it night time

It will work fine in day time but, solar panel controller will consume the battery at night.controller should have one way check valve/ diode from draining the battery. So unplug it night time. Would not buy if not on sale.

Killed my Battery

Not sure where you people live but the sun isn't strong enough to give you a sunburn in Canada (Vancouver) . This thing couldn't charge your cell phone let alone maintain a car battery. Do not buy.

I bought one 2 years ago and it has never failed me. I have used it to boost my truck battery in the bush and recharge and maintain my boat battery.

Bought 4 of these a while back. Put them on batteries on sunny summer days. Drained 2 small ATV batteries, and nearly ruined my truck battery as I had a couple days of repair/regular maintenance. Do not buy these.

Q: Ne charge pas bien une petite baterrie 12 volts? Une petite batterie 12 volts pour mon sonar, après 48 heures, ma batteries s'est charger de seulement 0.3 volts (11.6 à 11.9 volts) et il est rester stable pendant 2 jours. Quand je charge avec des chargeurs à batteries elle monte à 13 volts?

A: C'est normal 2.5w est juste assez pour maintenir la charge. Ne vous attendez pas à bien plus avec ce modèle. Par contre les accessoires qui viennent avec sont très utiles pour le branchement avec des modèles de panneau complémentaires. Bonne chance

A: Ce n'est pas requis pour un panneau d'une puissance de moins de 3A et apparemment il y aurait déjà une protection d'intégrée.

A: Ce panneau a une diode anti-retour. Vous pouvez laisser connecter en permanence le petit panneau. La recommandation est plutôt en fonction de la sécurité. Puisque le panneau sera principalement installé dans une voiture, sur un pare-brise avec les suces, une manœuvre rapide pourrait détacher le panneau, servir de projectile et blesser quelqu'un. Vraiment s'assurer de très bien fixer le panneau afin qu'il ne cause pas de blessure!

Q: Will Charger work through a Velux Skylight or Sun Tunnel in a Garage Roof? Building a garage for wintering a boat and motorcycle. If both batteries have their own Solar Charger. Will the light that comes through Low E Argon Gas Glass, still allow the Solar Battery Maintainer to work?

A: Should, as long as blue light is flashing it is producing power, but battery would need to be in good condition to start.

A: The Coleman 2.5W solar battery maintainer is designed to maintain any 12V battery, when not in use. This solar panel compensates for the natural drop in a batteries charge over time. It is perhaps not best used in conjunction with your power-box.
