Made of hard anodized aluminum and boasting the Total Food Release System of raised circles in a non-stick surface, the surface is 2 times harder than untreated stainless steel and up to 10 times more durable than traditional non-stick. 5 stars for the first year or so. I've had this set for about 2 and a half years. I've never put them in the dishwasher and have only used metal utensils sparingly and not what you'd call aggressively; just mashing potatoes and whisking custard or pudding. Much to my disappointment, I noticed tiny black specs in the custard I was making yesterday. It would only be visible when making custard or warming milk or maybe a light broth with no specs that could be mistaken for pepper. The specs can't be seen in most dishes but I'm just not comfortable using them. I can't find the receipt so am hoping the company will send me out a replacement set anyway ( or just the pots - the lids are fine) If not, I'll just stick with plain stainless steel.

Q: Will the handles be hot when cooking? I have an old set of circulon one of the problems with them was the rubber on the handles came lose after awhile. But it did allow me to pick up hot lids and pots without cooking gloves.
