Wonderful generator!

I purchased about 7 years ago and it has been a God send! I live in a rural area and power outages can last a whole day and sometimes 3-5 days! This runs my two medium size deep freezers, refrigerator, induction top single burner, my woodstove fan, 50" tv and Starlink system as well as computer and some lights. I can't hook into the panel to run my well pump but for the cost of this unit, it was well worth it. It still starts on the second pull. I follow the recommended servicing. Great unit! Right now I am on day four of a power outage and no issues.

Great Product

This is now my second Champion generator. The first one has been just great. It does everything I need it to do. I purchased this one for a family member. There are a lot of generators on the market today but Champion is by far the best out there.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great buy for the buck

I bought this unit a year ago while it was on sale so I could power my pellet stove during a power outage, only issue I found was I had a hard time starting it because it did not have a prime button to help the gas go through, I had to remove the gas tank vent hose from the air cleaner housing and blow through it to prime it, otherwise you would be cranking for hours, other then that the unit worked great

Q: will this unit run my RV a/c and other accessories at the same timr? I have a Regency 27 RV manuf. by Triple-E. I need a generater to run everything in it.

  • A: This genny will run a 13000BTU A/C. But in my opinion it is not suitable for the quietness and serenity of a Provincial, State Park or RV park. You would be better off with an RV generator (Onan) matched to you RV, will make for happier neighbours. Many parks also have hours of operation restrictions for generators, so to be honest, how cool would your RV get in a 2-3 hour time limit.

  • A: Good luck. Even a propane powered generator will be only ever so lightly quieter than a gasoline engine. Mr B

Q: Great Generator but it appears that nobody will sell you (including Canadian Tire) an LP5-30 Generator Cord with multiple outlets. Any ideas? I am disappointed that Canadian Tire would sell the Champion 3000 watt Generator # 46551 and not also sell the proper LP5-30 multiple outlet generator cord.

  • A: Thanks all, I did get the proper 25 ft. Generator Cord -L5-30P to (3) 5-15R in the U.S. It would be nice though if Canadian Tire carried it. The "pigtail" adapter that they do sell is not the same. The benefit of the 25 foot, lp5-30p is that you can place the generator away from your house and bring the full load of watts (2750) into your house on the ONE cord! Using the "pigtail adapter" or a regular cord you would still need 2-4 cords to bring the full load into tour house. Champion is awesome to deal with!

Q: Est-ce compatible avec soudeuse (Mig Lincoln Electric Pak 140)...

  • A: Sérieux...

Q: Will it run a 1HP (2000w) sump pump? Am concerned about initial start-up needs as usually 2-3x the running, but I'm not sure. Thanks!

3 Answers
  • A: To calculate the watt draw from your pump, you do the following (# amp x # volts). For example -- a 9 amp motor at 115 V is 9 x 115 = 1035 watts. By your statement, your motor draws 16.6 amps which would require a larger generator that produces 20 amp circuits; this model does 15 amp circuits. You need to verify your pump's amps and most likely it is 115 V. Also, if your pump uses a PSC motor, it is energy effecient. Mine is a 3/4 horsepower sump pump at 6.3 amps at 115 V ; I need 724.5 watts running and approx 1449 watts start up.
