Fabulous Pack with Great Features

i have many packs, and yet this is my goto one for just about every time i head out. being able to access the pack from both bottom and top is excellent and it's well laid out. despite not having a pouch for a water bag, this has everything i need in a pack and it is surprisingly comfortable on long hikes. i heartily recommend this pack and it is the recommended starter pack for my Scout Troop.

I found this more of a school bag then something I would take with me on a day hike. If you are putting heavy things into it the stitching will start to come out.

Great size. Zipper at the bottom for easy access to stuff at the bottom. Recently had this bag stolen. I'm very happy it's still available. I will be buying it again.

Q: What is the purpose of the strangely shaped patch of fabric at the top? I can't think of anything for which it could be used.

A: that's a light-load anchor point. i use it to tuck a rain slick's hood through it. holds it secure and i can just reach back and yank it out for use. i've also used it to secure a hank of line or hold my hat. once you start using it, you'll find a number of other uses for it.
