I’ve used this all summer on the dogs Halty when we do off leash dog walks in the forest. It’s loud enough I can hear him when he’s not in sight so I assume it’s also heard by the bears and keeps them away

strap it on your coat, back pack, or walking stick. nice little trinket to help avoid some un wanted surprise encounters out in the woods. and for you rednecks out there, hang a few on your barb wire fences to help you figgure out where your chicken thieves are sneaking into your property for a free meal
