    Fun target

This is a fun target, but a little too small for open sights and kids. Using a scoped rifle is great, but because of the 25 yard minimum setback, using open sights on a revolver or other pistol, this isn't a good target for kids. I can't reliably hit the roughly 2" diamonds at 25 yards with a pistol, let alone newer shooters. The concept is great, but it needs larger targets or stronger for closer range. And then to that point, when I was getting hits, it wasn't strong enough at 25 to flip the smaller ones, so I never got to try the reset. I honestly think a gong is more fun for kids.

My experience with this product has been positive so far. A 22 LR flips the paddles over at 50 yards with ease. It’s build quality is impressive for the price. Assembly was straight forward, but I did add a couple of extra washers to provide a bit more space between the two arms that suspend the reset paddle so it would swing more freely without getting stuck in the reset position. I also placed a drop of oil at all five pivot points to ensure optimal function. You may wish to purchase a can of orange spray paint to regularly freshen up the paddles. The stickers don’t hold up very well. FYI, when assembled properly, the reset paddle hangs below the striking paddles, not above as the picture on the website indicates.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    I like it!

The one I purchased from CT today, like another poster mentioned, has the reset at the bottom. Seems very heavy duty and it works the way it should. Stickers are almost non-existent after a couple hundred rounds fired at it today, but I could care less about that. The assembly instructions were vague, and the picture of the finished product could have been a bit bigger, but I figured it out with only 1 mistake. All the nuts and bolts are different sizes. You will need like 3 different sizes of wrench/socket to put this thing together. Still all in all, I'm happy with the purchase. I don't give any product 5 stars, as I believe there is room for improvement in everything. 4 stars for the product, 2 stars for the instructions and the fact that you need 3 different size tools for assembly.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Durable

This differs slightly from the one that I purchased from CT. Mine has the reset target on the bottom, making it more stable in my opinion. It's seen thousands of rounds and was money well spent. Yest, the stickers come off on the first hit, but don't waste time with stickers, just buy a can of blaze orange or blaze green spray paint. That's what I do.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Got a .22? GET THIS TARGET!!!

What a great little reactive target !! Put over 1000rds through it and didn't stop. I had to call it a day because as I ran out of ammo!! Getting the tension bar at the right level took a while, but once it was dialed.. it was flawless. My only complaint (as others have mentioned) is that the stickers wear off fast, but an easy fix is hit up a local dollar store and buy more stickers! Great little target for the price. Took a beating and showing no signs of wear at all.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Can this product be used as an archery target or would it be too hard on the arrows?

    • A: I am willing to bet its too hard for a tip to hit and not be damaged. Using .22LR HP only marks the paint at 100m. I recommend you stick to spray painting hay bails.

    • A: It'll make a ping noise... and a paintball will not hurt steel. when shooting a 22WMR it dents pretty good at 50 yards. 22LRs just knock some paint off.

    Q: would a .177 @ 495 from 30-45 feet have enough impact to activate this target ?

    1 Answer
    • A: This is really designed for a .22 rimfire which is a much higher velocity than a pellet gun. You would not get the reaction or movement from this target to make it work.

Q: How stable is the base? Since this does not require staking into the ground I was wondering if anyone who's used it can tell me if the base moves around a lot. I plan to put it on gravel or hard dirt and shoot it with .22LR high velocity rounds.
