It seems to be doing the job. I did feel a marked improvement after the first night. It works continuously, and often ramps up to red. It’s fairly loud at this level.

I bought this for my home and am loving it so far. It is easy to understand and operate and isnt as loud as ithers ive had. The filters arnt the cheapest but you get what you pay for right? Might get another one for the basment as well

Using the air purifier in the kitchen/dining area mostly. Very effective at removing cooking odors in short time. Also use it in living room area, have a small dog, cleans air very well. would recommend it for use in similar areas....

I bought the product a year ago and it keeps going to provide a cool clean air .It filters all allergens,dust and unwanted odours which really beneficial to have a healthier air to breathe.

A: You wouldn't want to have it on automatic, because when it revs up it will wake you. However, on the lower setting it's fine.

Q: carbon light is lit (no manual) on front of aeramax DX5 does this indicate it needs cleaning or replacement? THanks Gene

A: The replaceable filters are not designed to be cleaned, they are consumables. You can buy a 4-pack of replacement carbon filters via Canadian Tire or a quick Google search. If you see dust on the outside of the unit, just wipe it down or vacuum it, but even if you do that, the light won't go away. To reset the light, hold down the circle-sun icon on the front panel for a few seconds until it beeps, you'll see HEPA turn orange. Push the icon again and it will switch to Carbon. Hold down the icon and the Carbon light will turn off. Personally, I washed the carbon filter but now it literally serves no purpose other than a cat fur barrier for the HEPA filter (it doesn't remove smells anymore).

Q: I have asthma and I read that ionizers aren’t good for people with asthma and this has a ionizer... if I turn the icon off will the ionizer 100% be off? That’s my concern as I recently bought this air purifier but didn’t know it had a ionizer until after

A: I have mild asthma and it’s never caused me any issues. I got this during the days we were getting wildfire smoke and it helped immensely

A: You do realise that neg. ions are found in great quantity in nature ? You know how good it feels when in a forest or near a stream ? Negative Ions ! Positive Ions are usually found in offices with copiers, computer screens which produce a lot of it and are known to lead to headaches, stress, irritability and lack of concentration. So, if you worry about negative ions, you can relax and enjoy fresher air.

A: The ratings according to AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers) are, CADR Rating – Dust 65 CADR Rating – Pollen 75 CADR Rating – Smoke 68

A: We would not recommend our AP filters for removing carbon dioxide from car exhaust. It is covered in our testing and shows that it had a poor result at removing this from the air.

A: The replacement filter indicators will signal when to replace the True HEPA Filter and/ or Carbon Filter. The replacement period will vary depending on the hours of use and air quality. However, under normal usage, most True HEPA Filters need to be replaced annually, and Carbon Filters every three months.

Q: My house is open concept. Will it work within the 200 sq ft area of where it's placed or will it not work because it isn't a closed off space?

A: The air purifier will clean any amount of space it is put into. The effectiveness of the machine is reduced in a larger space. This machine is rated to clean a 100sq ft room with 5 exchanges per hour and a 200sqft room with 2.5 exchanges of air per hour roughly. If the room is larger it will clean at less exchanges per hour.
