The Mastercraft 4-in Drill Press Vise for Dry Use is a practical tool to add to your toolkit. With sturdy teeth that can hold on and grip a variety of materials of different shapes, this jet drill press vise makes life easier. It features a swivel handle crank to easily adjust the jaws as you go about your work. This jaws open up to 4", along with elongated holes that make fastening its clamp to the worktable of the drill press far more convenient.

It works fine but doesn’t come with mounting hardware. Positions are limited and requires constant repositioning when drilling more than 1 hole.

Rough around the edges

Quality is pretty rough. Edges were razor sharp, lots of drips and runs in the paint, slag in the casting, jaws weren't quite parallel, and all the fasteners need some thread locker added to them. If you're willing to disassemble, and spend some time with a file it can be made serviceable.

Q: Drill press 055-6798-6, Vice 055-5906-6 I just bought the Mastercraft drill press and to go with it the Mastercraft drill press vice. The slots on the vice DO NOT line up with the slots on the drill press table! You only sell 1 press & 1 vice.

Q: I just bought the Mastercraft drill press and to go with it the Mastercraft drill press vice. The slots on the vice DO NOT line up with the slots on the drill press table! The only way to get partial line up is hang 50% off the table

A: Hello Pranjal, Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the 4” MC Drill Press Vise will fit the MC 10” Drill Press. There are various methods of attaching the 4” drill press vise to the drill press table. Using hex head bolts & nuts 1/2" x 2-1/2” (x2), ½” locking washer(x2) and ½” flat washer(x4) is the most economical method. The most important is to position the centre of the workpiece while it is secured to the 4” drill vise first. Then secure the drill press vise to the drill press table using a minimum two bolts. If you prefer to use c-clamps, then a minimum of two sides of the drill press vise should be clamped to the table, ensuring that the clamp does not interfere with the drill press as you move the drill down towards the work piece. If you are drilling in metal, ensure to set the drill press to a lower RPM and using cutting fluid to extend the life of your drill bit. Please see attached PDF for reference

Q: What is the length of the jaws? (Not how far it opens, I know that's 4 inches) I need to know what length of jaw pads I should get for it.
