The 3M™ Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200 is a single-component, high-strength, moisture-curing, gap-filling polyurethane for permanent bonding of wood, gelcoat and fibreglass. It cures to form a firm, rubbery, waterproof seal on joints and boat hardware, both above and below the waterline. In addition, our marine adhesive sealant is flexible and allows for structural movement and dissipation of stress that may be caused by vibration, swelling, shrinking or shock. Available in both cartridge and sausage packs to meet your application requirements.

If you have thru-hull fittings, or deck to hull fittings, this stuff is a must. It works great to seal and keep the water out - permanently.

3m 5200

3m 5200 is the best adhesive I have ever used. It is incredibly strong.
I used it to mount 2 by b4 blocks to a container, so i could mount a steel rack to hang garden tools.
It will adhere to almost anything anything, as long as the surfaces are clean and sount (no rust, rease, paint etc)
The only issue I have is that once the tube is open, you have about 48 hours to use it before it kicks. The tube is relatively small, but it would be better if it were also available in 1/4 sizes.

Q: Does this work with inflatable boats?

A: Hi Chris, thanks for your question. The 3M™ Marine Adhesive Sealant 5200 does not adhere well to the material inflatable boats are generally made of (Hypalon or PVC). It is considered permanent on wood, gelcoat and fibreglass only. We suggest reaching out to the boat manufacturer for product recommendation.

Q: Would u use this product to fill in cracks on a fiberglass outrigger

A: If the crack is all of the way through, you will need to use some fibreglass cloth and resin on the backside, such as Bondo Fibreglass Resin Repair Kit (Canadian Tire part number 47-5803). The cosmetics of the crack on the front can then be repaired with Bondo Glass Reinforced Filler (Canadian Tire part number 47-5635), and then finish with Marine Premium Filler (Canadian Tire part number 79-0262) prior to painting.
