This jacket tries to copy the original bug shirt company jacket but misses the mark completely. The mesh on the face is so dark to can barely see through it. And you need to unzip the entire head piece to access to eat or drink. First time out with this jacket the head piece fell off when I had it open. Just a poor design. Spend your money on the original bug shirt. It’s more expensive but WAY better.

No, I do not recommend this product.

A: If you pull a condom over your head, this jacket becomes water proof, but breathing underneath is more of a challenge. Overall a great product in combination with your condom.

Q: Are bugs able to get through the hole at the back of the neck where the beginning and end of the head zipper meet?

A: I m on my 2nd one of these and over the years I have never had any bugs or mosquitos get to me through the connection zipper for the hood to the body of the bug jacket. I also make a small squirt of insect repellant at that connection point as well as at the end of the sleeves. Works great.
