You'll want to consider the fixture and wattage the bulb is for, making sure that they match. You'll also want to consider where the light bulb will run. Some light bulbs will stand up to hot or cold conditions better than others.

What features should I look for when buying light bulbs?

Mainly, you'll want to make sure the light bulb's wattage and format match your fixtures. Then consider what you want in a bulb. Smart bulbs offer voice-control and a range of customizable light color and temperature settings, LED bulbs are energy efficient, Edison bulbs are stylish, and fluorescent tube lights offer a blend of long-lasting operation and energy savings over time.

How do I know I'm buying the right colour temperature and brightness?

The colour temperature and brightness you'll need depend on where you're using the bulb. For ceiling lighting in a kitchen, you'll want bright bulbs with cool temperatures to provide better visibility. For living areas, you may prefer a warmer white to make a relaxing impression.
