How Long do Motorcycle Batteries Last?

A battery is an essential part of every motorcycle, as it provides the electrical power that starts your engine. On average, a motorcycle battery will last between 3 to 5 years, depending on riding conditions and how well you take care of your bike.

There are signs to look for if you suspect your powersports battery may be running out of juice. First, take a look at the battery and if you see any broken or cracked parts, discolouration or leaking fluids, then it’s time for a replacement. Other signs that it needs to be changed include having trouble starting your motorcycle, dim headlights, or the horn is not as loud as it usually is.

How Much do Motorcycle Batteries Cost?

Motorcycle batteries vary in price, depending on the brand and type of battery. You can replace the battery on your own, but if you choose to go to a mechanic, you will need to factor in labour costs on top of the battery price.

How Do I know Which Battery to Buy for My Motorcycle?

There are different types of batteries on the market, so before making a purchase, it’s best to know which one your motorcycle uses. Always consult your vehicle manual or look at the battery itself to make sure you have the right one because they come in various sizes.
