What's the difference between ATV and UTV, and do they use the same batteries?
ATV stands for "all-terrain vehicle" and is sometimes referred to as a "four wheeler". They generally only accommodate one rider and do not have storage space. UTV stands for "utility task vehicle." They tend to be bigger and more powerful, often providing "side by side" riding, also referred to as "SXS." They also offer more storage space and comfort. For the most part, ATVs and UTVs use the same type of batteries, but it's always best to check with your vehicle's manufacturer's recommendations to ensure everything matches.
What is the best battery for an ATV?
AGM (absorbed glass mat) is your best option if you want a high-performance, reliable, maintenance-free battery. Leaks are never an issue because they are non-spillable. In addition, the technology and construction of AGM batteries make them durable, shock-proof and allow you to mount them in various positions.
Are all four-wheeler batteries the same?
Generally, yes. Most four-wheelers, including ATVs and UTVs, as well as motorcycles, will run on a 12v batteries and these batteries will either be lead acid or AGM.
