Q: How bright is this, would it provide enough light under a gazebo at night?

A: The 59-1636 Orb Lantern is intended to help set a mood, much as a wax candle would. The light it produces would not be sufficient for dining, or board games. For conversation around a table in a gazebo it would be perfect.

Q: is this water resistant or waterproof? can this be left in an area exposed to rain, such as in under a pergola?

A: This lantern is water resistant, not waterproof. It is suggested that this product not be placed in a location where it will be exposed to much rain, however if the product is placed under a pergola, it will still operate fine. The candle is resin, which is meant for outdoor use, and the metal is powder coated with weather-resistant paint.
