My Jaw Saw experience with this product:

I bought this Jaw Saw 5 or 6 years ago. I really have but it threw the mill over the years on my 1 1/4 acres lot with lots of trees. It worked flawlessly up until a year ago when the electric wires in the handle tore apart. I tore it apart to see that the hard plastic tube that protects the wires while the handle is moving up and down was wearing out the wire as it passed through the small hole in the handle casing that keeps the plastic protection tube from moving while in use. The problem was the end of the protective tube eventually wore through the wire casing and eventually wore though the wiring itself. To correct the issue, I took the handle casing hole, that is created when the two handle pieces are put together again and made the hole bigger so that the protective tubing could move with the wire as well when in use moving up and down. I soldiered the wire together again and rapped it with electrical tape and slid the protective tube back over it again. Now the protective tube and the wires can move freely back and forth in the handle. Then reinstalled it all back together again and it's been working just like new again. Only issue I ever had with it for over 5-6 years. If I would not have been able to fix it, I certainly would have bought another one. Maybe your engineers can check this fix out and have even a better product that will last even longer.

I have only been able to use this one day due to weather but I was able to remove 4 pine bush stumps. Cannot wait for the weather to clear to finish the rest of the job.

Makes sawing small trees a breeze

I have both a corded and a battery version of the JawSaw. Both work very well, but honestly, since I purchased the battery operated one, I never use the corded one. Also, I got the handle extension. It works well.

Sofar I have been very happy with this product. Its truly easy to use. No fear. I haven't had any issues with the chain popping off or anything like that like in online revies.. I haven't used it on the hardwood tree i need to prune yet. I have used it on several different woods & it has cut through them like butter. Bo kickback. I'm very happy.

R : I've found this problem to be: the wires inside the handle get pinched. I've taken apart and repaired, but it doesn't last long - get's pinched again. Recommend buying a new saw.

R : I agree with Worx Customer Care of recommend speaking with your doctor. Now to my answer: I bought the JawSaw approx 17 years ago with extension handle and lifetime chain replacement. I had open heart surgery in 2017 and a defibrillator put in place in my left upper chest. long story short. I read and was told all about things to do and not do and it all kind of nerved me alot. Igave away my all my gas gardening items to my sons and I purchased electric or cordless items. I've not had any problems at all. So, make your decision, but I woud go with the electric and cordless. You'll accomplish everything just as well and you don't need to mess with fuel and the pulling of trying to start the darn things. I know this answer may be a bit long, however I do believe I needed to let you know as someone that has been through all this.

R : Yes. It works extremely well for cutting palms. We have cut thousands of palm branches over 5 decades on our property, and after trying everything and I mean everything from "ratcheting loppers" to "pole saws" this is the most efficient and is about 2x faster. The JawSaw is a lot easier and also saves a lot of time. Our palm branches are about one inch thick for about the whole length up until where the branch connects to the tree which can be several inches thick. To cut the thick part we use a ~$19 corded reciprocating saw with a wood blade. These two tools together are the fastest and easiest way we have found to cut palms. When we first bought the JawSaw we thought that it looked a good design but wondered about buying it and how well it would actually work. After using it, if we knew how good it was when we were buying it "we would have bought it in a heartbeat no question about it and at its price it wasn't even worth a second thought in comparison to how much time, effort, and money it has saved us". It's one of the best purchases we have ever made. We have a few short palms that are on inclined ground that are not easy to access using a telescoping or A-frame ladder... we bought the JawSaw extension pole and although it can be heavy when extended it has definitely paid off for helping us get the job done fast and easily. We have been using the Worx JawSaw for a few years now and have found it can cut any amount of branches that fits in its 4 inch opening - such as bushes, oak, pine, palm trees, yucca, bamboo (ours is 1 inch thick), a wooden pallet, and even seasoned hardwood (which you should normally cut before its seasoned). The JawSaw is easy to maintain. Highly recommend for anyone who has trees or bushes that need to be cut.

R : I used to have same problem where I would use it for about 2 hrs. & the chain would fall off a couple times. The last time I used it for about 6hrs on/off again. I would open it and just loosen bolt enough, push to make sure it is tight, then tighten back up. The chain never came off since tightening it every 30 mins.

R : Hello there! Thank you for your questions. The best way to ensure the chain is properly installed on your chainsaw is to follow these directions. When installing a new chain, wrap the chain around the bar and sprocket. Pull the bar out stretching the chain. Continue holding the bar out while attaching the casing to the chainsaw. New chains will go through a period of stretching. I recommend checking the tension after 3-5 cuts and re-tensioning if necessary. To re-tension, your chainsaw, turn the tensioner knob counterclockwise at least 3-4 times then turn the tensioner knob clockwise until the chain is tensioned. To determine if the chain is properly tensioned, you can pull the chain up in the center of the upper edge of the bar. If you can see a tiny sliver of light between the bar and chain, it is properly tensioned. If you see no light, it is too tight, a lot of light means it is not tensioned enough. If you are unable to get the chain to tension with these steps, go back to the beginning and re-install the chain. To help minimize and prevent leakage, we recommend the following: -Use only enough oil for the task at hand. -Remove oil cap and immediately replace it after operation to vent the oil tank. This relieves any accumulated pressure during the oiling process. -Allow the saw to cool down before storing. -Wipe down the saw sprocket area. -Remove oil from saw before storage. -Store the saw horizontally when not in use.
