For those complaining about circuit board application. This product was NOT meant for circuit board cause its melting point is to hot for boards.

Not for use on circuit boards!

Like the other reviewer, I bought this intending to use it on PCBs and opened it only to find out that the flux will ruin my board. Luckily I knew enough not to use it. Seeing as how this is advertised as being for circuit board use this is a huge problem. That being said the solder works nicely, and I can use the flux for other repair projects around the shop, so it wasnt a total loss.

Don't use this on circuit boards!

This product works OK for soldering normal metal applications, but should never be used on electronic circuit boards. The tube of flux that is provided with it is an acid based flux (read its ingredients) that is water soluble. As any electronics tech will tell you (or you can Google "solder flux" for further info) this type of flux will destroy a circuit board by leaving a corrosive (and conductive) residue behind on the board. It may work for a few days or weeks, but then the corrosion will eat away at the delicate copper runs on the board, and also cause unwanted conduction between adjacent copper runs, making the circuit board malfunction. I find this package really misleading because it is actually marketed as being made for "circuit board repair", and even worse, the solder in the package is (purposely?) wrapped around the tube of flux, so that you can't tell that it is the wrong flux until after you buy it and open the kit package. Always use resin (also spelled "rosin") flux instead for electronic work, or a solder that has a core of resin flux built in- most special electronic solders have this core built-in to them. Note: if it's too late and you have already used this kit on a circuit board, my only advice would be maybe you can try to save the board by sponging the soldered area with water to try and remove as much residue as possible, and then thoroughly drying the board (a couple of hours with a warm hair dryer). Obviously any power needs to be removed from the board before doing this, and I would give this a 50% chance, I would guess, of saving the board. Thanks for letting me post this.

- Traduire avec GoogleR : You may want to consider brazing for a stainless steel application. if you go with brazing, you will need the nickel/Silver brazing rod which is model# NS3 and you will need a High Activity Stainless Steel liquid Flux. You can get this type of flux from other manufactures including our sister company Worthington 1955. The product # for Worthington is 331929 in the US or 334053 in Canada.The process of brazing is much like soldering only at a higher temperature and with greater tensile strength.il y a 12 ansUtile?

- Traduire avec GoogleR : The SSWS100 being a solder is not going to be strong enough. It will adhere to the blade but the strength of a braced joint depends on the overlapped material. So a butt joint will be very weak and overlapping will likely be bad for his saw. Typically saw blades are resistance welded together. Our strongest braze alloy is the Bernzomatic NS-3. It would be better to take it somewhere or to buy a new one.il y a 13 ansUtile?
