R : Perhaps this question from a decade ago should be archived? The oil is question is fully synthetic if you're asking whether it's a blend, which I believe is the question. Blended oils must label themselves as such. The actual feedstock for the oil is another story, but likely not what you were asking about. Check "Bob is the Oil Guy" if you have weeks of free time to delve into the nuances of engine oils, but unless you're driving an exotic supercar any synthetic is better than the conventional oils and will be fine. I drive a turbo diesel German vehicle with high specs for oil and this works great.

R : I have seen synthetic motor oil for deisel engines. It is harder to find so I would ask your car dealer for their advice and look on the internet for synthetic deisel oil supplers.

R : I just did 12000km oil change in 2000 jetta tdi. Engine has 457 000km, still running good. Pull that stick out every weekend and look at oil color and viscosity. When it starts to turn dirty and/or black, change it. 5w40 sinthetic is recommended for diesel engine, so I only use this castrol...

R : Castrol EDGE products have had a recent label change. Castrol EDGE 0W-20 can be used with confidence in your Toyota vehicle as long as a 0W-20 motor oil is recommended for use for that year, make, and model.

Q : 2018 VW Atlas why would dealer deny warranty work because of this oil does not meet Euro specs. It's a mexico build VW? Warranty work is for coolant leaks in the Engine!

R : Nor really sure.. 5w40 is an old vw spec 502. And 505 I believe.. newer ones are different spec bit it shouldn't void your warranty about your coolant system.. not related. Goodluck
