Cracked and leaky spigot

Spigot never fit properly. Even when caulked it alway spun around. I had to put a container under it to catch the water. And now it's got a giant crack after the second winter. We emptied it at the end of fall too.

Quality Rain Barrels

I bought this recently because we added another downspout to our eavestrough system. I haven’t used this one yet, but I have three others which have worked well for several years. They sit on cement patio stones which have a good base of gravel underneath. I empty them, clean them and take them indoors in the fall after watering is no longer necessary (before first frost), and bring them outside and set them back up in early summer when garden watering begins. I fill my watering can from the top by taking the lid off the rain barrel, which works better for me than using the spout which is too close to the ground for the height of the watering can (they are not on elevated stands). No cracks or issues with any of them so far. As long as this new one is same quality as the others, expecting no issues.

IT will break if it freezes with water in it

Cannot handle a freeze thaw cycle. If there is ANY water in this barrel when it freezes, it will crack. I have had two crack on me now. The only way to prevent is to have this barrel upside down during the months where it may freeze, and then put it in place for the summer season. In Calgary where we get a lot of chinooks and wild swings in the weather, this thing is has to be uninstalled, and covered in a way to not allow any water in it. Even snow landing on it and melting is enough to cause it break when freezing temps happen. You would expect better for +$100
