Q: can it scrape ice under the snow. Does it scratch cement driveway

A: I find that a steel snow shovel is the only way to remove compacted snow off of smooth concrete. To remove actual ice shovel the snow away and then use a ice chipper/scrapper. some ice melter can help.The cement stands up well if it is in good condition.

A: Hello Techen, The 24in steel shovel is heavier than your traditional poly blades. The shovel is almost double the weight of the plastic version. If you are looking for a metal blade shovel that is lighter, please look at CT# 0596940 (24in Aluminum snow shovel). -Garant GP

Great Steel Blade Snow Shovel/Pusher!

Needed a new steel blade snow shovel/snow pusher. This fit the bill perfectly. The steel blade is durable and scrapes right down to the pavement, it cut through our hard packed snow and compacted ice with ease. Please note that steel blade shovels like these are heavier in weight and not necessarily suitable for every user. However with proper maintenance and care, this tool will last many many years to come. The negative one star reviews below sound like the other reviewers were offering feedback regarding the Aluminum Snow Pusher of similar design, but rest assured this steel blade is very sturdy and durable.

Yes its heavier than all those plastic shovels . But it does the job . I used it to clean the severly packed snow on the sidewalk . And it did the job well . Although it took a little more effort . It worked well for the job at hand . And being a strong build it will last a long time .

Pretty heavy when lifting wet snow but scrapes nicely.
