It starts easily, cuts the lawn okay and is relatively easy to push. However, the motor speed hunts (revs up and down) until the automatic choke kicks out which seems to take longer than it should and the body is not very robust so will need to be carefully cared for if you want it to last.

Have had this mower for 15 months, and it's motor has gotten progressively troublesome. 1 - 2 pulls when new, and now 5 - 7, and has started back firing. Checked the plug and it was black, so tried cleaning it with poor results. Decided to replace the plug and air filter (over priced parts) but that also had issues as the new plug (recommended NGK) - has the plug cap fail to stay seated. I got rid of my old mower because it was hard to start, and in less then 2 years I'm in the same boat.

Q: What kind of oil does this mower take? SAE-30?

A: The tag on the mower and the Canadian Tire website recommends 4-cycle 10W30 oil. The engine manual recommends 10W30 oil as well. The general manual recommends SAE30, but I think that's an error. I added the recommended Motomaster 4-cycle 10W30 oil and the mower is working like a charm. I had to cut tall, thick grass in places but it still worked well!

A: Stay away from all lawn mowers at Canadian tire , they do not stand behind the product. And sadly I love Canadian Tire.

Q: When a lawnmower is new how many bottles of sae-30 oil does it take?

A: Owners manual reads, 14oz or .4 l. Personally I put in about 12 oz, not knowing if there was residual oil left in motor from testing. Cut lawn once, checked oil level and added last 2 oz., guess there was not much oil left from testing.

Q: The person I spoke to at Canadian Tire (when I bought the mower) suggested a certain lawnmower oil. However the bottle says not for use with OHV engines. I don't know what to believe. What would happen if I use oil that says not to use with OHV engines?
