The bar to set the trap is too short. Almost took my finger off. Trap does not stay set.

I have given it 4 stars only because I am not fond of the plastic trigger. The older metal style was easier to set. Does the job though.

Awkward to set compared to others

Far more difficult to set compared to the 20 others we have at the shop. The bar that holds the spring in place seems to have too little grip it takes multiple tries to get it set and and it trips when a truck drives by outside. None of our other traps do this.

- A: I killed a couple of squirrels with the rat trap. I needed to cut a couple of inches of a 750ml soda bottle to make an arch that blocks the side of the spring and forces the squirrel to come in straight on. The arch needs to be high enough to allow the spring to clear.3 years agoHelpful?

Q: I have a rodent in my house, only saw it for a split second, not sure what it is. Will this trap kill smaller rodents as well? I don't want to set mouse traps in case I have a rat. Are rat traps my best bet in this situation?
