Won’t start

I bought this 3 years ago, First year used it maybe 2 times. As it was end of winter. Next winter, wouldn’t start, tried changing oil, gas, plug, had to bring it into local small engine repair. Charged $200 to go through and get started. Used 4 times. Next winter same thing, wouldn’t start, brought back to local place, found air line from carb was plugged. Charged $75. Used all winter, Next winter, started first pull then died, won’t start AGAIN. So frustrating.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great Snow Blower!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This is my third winter with my 2435. I had issues during the first winter. The engine would rev up and down all the time. I tried everything and couldn't fix it. Tried it again the second winter and it ran perfectly. No idea what the issue was. Three years in and it works perfectly. It's light and easy to maneuver. I used to have a snow blower with a 42" auger. It was harder to use than a shovel. This one is perfect!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Troy-bilt 24" 2 stage snow blower : The 2 reverse gears are extremely difficult to change to, moving from forward drive to reverse 1 and 2 gears, and am afraid the cable might break. Any way to ease this ??Going to reverse gear 2 seems IMPOSSIBLE.

A: This issue can be fixed fast, by adjusting the cable adjustment on the gear cable.

A: If that block of snow has frozen solid overnight then you may have to use a metal shovel to create an opening. Then take half cuts through the balance.

Q: Shifting one gear to another is very difficult, especially to reverse 1 and 2. Worried might break drive cable. Tried trouble shooting as in manual. If I move drive cable back, then when put in drive # 6, there will be too much slack on drive cable.. ??

Q: The engine is surging from day 1. The only way it works better is with the choke in the middle. Feels like a carburetor issue, but I don't like seeing it with a brand new engine. Do I have to carry it to a service center so soon?

A: Thank you for reaching out. It's important to start with fresh, high octane, ethanol-free gasoline for best performance. Stored fuel can become stale in as little at 30 days and cause rough running. Consider a remedial product liike Star Tron Quick Fix, Canadian Tire item # 060-6413-8 and if things don't improve contact the manufacturer at 1-800-668-1238 for assistance.
