Delicious home bread all the time!

This machine makes wonders. I am very happy with my purchase! The bread comes out with nice crust and amazing aroma spreading all around the house. The only little drawback is the cake function of the menu. I tried to bake a cake with raisins according to the recipe given in the machine manual, the loaf came out small and hard. I don't know what to change in the recipe. I probably need to contact the machine manufacturer. So far the basic function of this machine is very good bread. Highly recommend it!

Overly picky and options aren't optional

Picked this up (not on sale or discount) with the recommendation of brand from family member because my Black & Decker bit the dust a few months ago. Well, I'm disappointed. The "optional" fruit & nut dispenser is needed to keep heat (there is no alternative object/item to plug the hole otherwise), the recipe book that comes with the machine tells you that you can't use any other measuring devices other than the 2 (measuring spoon and cup) that come with the device, that the recipes are specifically for the machine (everything is in ml/grams), and that really no other recipes will work with the machine. If I had not already opened the machine and made 2 loaves a bread with the only recipe that used all purpose flour (indicated in the book, I kept wondering what I was doing wrong), I would have returned the machine. Since everything is in grams, and no equivalents are given, I don't know what settings are appropriate for what recipes on the internet now (the manual states that the setting on the machine were made specifically for the recipes in the book). This is only my second bread maker and I will not be purchasing a Starfrit again. At least it makes and bakes bread.
