    For years I have applied protectant to the rubber door seals in my cars each fall. I do this because of a bad experience with moist door seals sticking to door frames and being torn to pieces in very cold weather. We recently bought a car with black leather seats and were horrified to find the the overspray from applying the protectant to the cleaning cloth had stained the leather seats. Nothing I tried would remove the stains. After a long search on the internet, I finally discovered that silicone oil is soluble in mineral spirits (also known as naphtha, paint thinner and several other names). I had some naphtha camping fuel and this easily removed the protectant stains. There is no warning on the product label that overspray will stain leather. If a warning had been on the label, I would have given the product 5 stars. It works well and is not as watery as other brands.
