Q: does it need to be filled on empty tank. i added it to a full tank. will this affect the effectiveness of the product ?
4 years agoA: We recommend installing all RP fuel products before filling up your tank to ensure the best possible mixing of the additive with the fuel. Installing Max-Clean into a full fuel tank will cause a longer period of sub-optimal mixing. The Max-Clean will still provide benefit, but it may take several days of driving and sloshing the fuel in the tank to optimally mix the additive and fuel.

Q: 2 bottles put in 20 gallons by mistake. Will damage eesult?
3 months agoA: Thanks for your inquiry, MacHunter. You should not experience any issues. Our minimum recommended dosage for the Royal Purple Max-Clean for fuel system cleaning and fuel stabilization is one (1) ounce per gallon of fuel. To achieve more of a “one-tank clean-up”, the Max-Clean dose should be used between one (1) and two (2) ounces per gallon of fuel. The maximum effective treat rate is three (3) ounces of Max-Clean per gallon of fuel. For best results we recommend installing the Max-Clean into a nearly empty tank and then filling it up. We recommend retreating every 10,000 miles or annually, whichever comes first.

Q: My 2007 Honda Rebel CMX 250cc is running rough (I just bought her as is used). Will this product help? How much?
3 years agoA: Since you asked here is a little info for you. There are many opinions on if gasoline goes bad over time. On a motorcycle in Canada the bike goes through long periods of time without running through the gas in the tank. The carbs in older bikes" have tiny jets that the gas passes through in the carb and "bad fuel" will clog these to some degree. The bike you bought my not have been stored properly specially if it was stored outside or in an unhated garage etc. The temperature fluctuations will cause a certain amount of condensation / moisture and old fuel may become slightly "sludgely". Put the proper amount of this product in ( 2 ounces per gallon as stated ) and fill the tank right up to minimize condensation. Until that storage, run the recommended ratio of this through the bike for a few tankfulls. If this doesn't cure the issues and the valves are adjusted, spark plug is new and properly gapped tyen some further work may be needed. Since this is a single cylinder bike, they do tend to run "different" than a multi cylinder bike. A good tune up may be a good idea.

2 months agoA: Thanks for your inquiry, Nodd. Yes, the Royal Purple Max-Clean can be used in a snow blower 2-cycle or 4-cycle engine application at our recommended dosages. On these snow blower fuel tanks, you will have to be more careful on the dosing since they are typically much smaller than automotive fuel tanks and likely will not need to install the whole bottle. Our minimum recommended dosage for the Royal Purple Max-Clean for fuel system cleaning and fuel stabilization is one (1) ounce per gallon of fuel. To achieve more of a “one-tank clean-up”, the Max-Clean dose should be between one (1) and two (2) ounces per gallon of fuel. Q: My 4.6 Mustang has started to sputter when I accelerate will this product work I have replaced the fuel filter.
2 years agoA: There are many reasons why an engine may not run well. If the root cause of your engine's poor operation is deposits in the fuel injectors, combustion chamber, or other places in the fuel system, then yes, Max-Clean will absolutely help reduce those symptoms.If the root cause is unknown, Max-Clean is an inexpensive first thing to try. For best and fastest results, use two cans in the fuel tank of your Mustang. Wait until you have no more than 1/2 tank of fuel then install the Max-Clean before filling your gas tank with fuel. This helps to thoroughly mix the additive into the fuel.

A: We recommend between 1oz and 2oz of Max-Clean per gallon (~4 L) of fuel. Using the entire 20oz can in 40L of fuel is at our maximum effective recommended dose. This is perfectly safe and the most effective dosing. Using more than 2oz per gallon is still safe, but there is little increase in benefit with a dose stronger than 2oz per gallon.

Q: Does this product contain PEA (polyether amine)?
3 years agoA: Yes it does. All Royal Purple fuel treatments contain PEA, with Max-Clean have the highest concentration and most effective mix of proprietary versions of PEA.
