Questions
Q: Got a Suzuki GW 250cc 4-stroke motorcycle, one of the recommended oils is 15w 40 synthetic SAE, this one should be fine right?
2 years agoA: If your bike has a wet clutch (nearly all Japanese bikes do) they you should not use oil that does not meet the MA /MA2 spec. The friction modifiers in automotive oil will damage your clutch. I use Rotella T6 - it's less expensive and it meets the MA2 spec. Yeah, I know it is specified for diesel engines but it works in motorcycles with wet clutches too. Consult your owner's manual if you are not sure of the oil specifications required.

A: NO!! First of all, there's no bike that I know that runs on 10w30 oil. Second, this oil ain't JASO MA or whatever wet cluctch oil standard your bike needs. There're all sort of anti-friction additives in this oil that would harm a wet clutch. JUST DON'T!

A: Yes. According to their website, RP recommends their HPS line of engine oil for use in any Diesel application, excluding 5w-20.

A: Correcting myself here, although I have never found it, yes there are jugs available in several selected weights.
12 years agoQ: Would this oil be a good choice for small engines? a small 4700 watt or 7500 watt gen for example.

A: Yes, I use it in my generators 3300/4000 watt regularly, almost exclusively. Never had an engine issue yet. Just change it every 50-100 hours, whatever your manual recommends. Any synthetic 5w30 should work for a generator, but might as well put the good stuff in to make it last the longest.

A: Just a good quality synthetic oil filter. I have been using Mobile 1 for years and no issues

A: Yes, there is no issue in switching from a mineral/conventional engine oil to a high-quality synthetic engine oil, like Royal Purple. We recommend using the same viscosity grade that is specified in the owners manual and/or on the oil fill cap on the engine.

A: RP announced the release of 0W-20 for the Japanese requirements in December of 2011 in the States.
