I am on my 2nd BRAND NEW Reload backup camera and neither of them have worked! The monitor displays the pic if TRUCK IS NOT RUNNING!
If i start truck(bought new by me 2017 Ram 1500) and put in reverse, NO PICTURE!!
With truck NOT RUNNING, but key put fwd to accessory and shifted to reverse it works.
Beyond frustrating, this is the 2nd camera. I will never buy anything electrical again from Canadian Tire. Oh yeah tech "help" is NON-EXISTENT!
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: I use the back up camera on my camper. Assist in parking and checking bike rack. I wired the camera as an extra set of eyes and can be used anytime while driving forward, reverse and in parked mode.

Q: If the monitor is powered by the back-up light, you have to run a wire to the same place as the camera anyway, so what's the point. You might as well install a wired system and avoid potential problems of wireless communication. Why not keep it simple.

A: The camera, NOT the monitor is powered by rev light(or should be). Monitor is powered by 12v plug in. That being said you think I can get mine to work?!?!?!?

Q: The camera is obviously weatherproof, is the monitor weatherproof as well ? Can it be left on an open SxS that's always exposed to the elements ?

Q: Can this setup, camera/monitor, record, in any way, any type of events, such as rear end collisions or record tailgaters?

A: It doesn’t record at all. It is just a backup camera.
It sounds like you are looking for something more like a dash cam.

A: From what I remember on the camera unit wiring you had three wires a power positive red and ground black and a trigger wire from your backup light circuit and monitor turns on when you go in reverse. This makes no sense if your camera only works with the key on in reverse and not while the engine is running in reverse?
I installed that same camera in a horse trailer and I use it to monitor the horses for hours and hours at a time.. no issues I would try to find another 12 volt trigger source to see if it make a difference perhaps try it on the brake light wire just to see. If not send it back defective... and try another one.

Q: The camera doesn't work/transmit to monitor when in reverse and RUNNING. It works when in reverse with vehicle off and key in acc. I've tried pairing several times and it always works when truck is NOT running. WTH?

A: You are powering the camera from an accessory circuit. You need to find a circuit that is powered in the "on" position .... for example, ignition circuit or any other circuit that is on in both the "accessory " and "on" positions like power windows etc

A: Hi there,
Both the camera and the monitor are connected to the reversing light, so once the car is in reverse mode, the backup camera system will automatically turn on.

A: Hi there,
This backup camera is powered by the reversing lights so it can only work when reversing.
