Q: Would this be safe to use to seal cement bird bath

    4 Answers
    • A: If there is a hole in the birdbath, yes. If you're trying to repair a broken base or pedestal, then construction adhesive might be better.

Q: Is it hard to mix? I do not have a lot of strength in my hands and arms. Can I mix it in small batches in a small plastic container such as an ice cream container?

    2 Answers
    • A: Yes, you can! I used paint stir stick to mix it then used small plastic putty knife to fill in basement cracks. Works like a charm. Dries quickly so mixing small batches is perfect. Happy patching!

Q: Can this product be used in colder weather (0-10 degrees celcius)? I don't see anything about termperature on the container.

    2 Answers
    • A: Quikrete Water Stop Cement should be applied in temperatures above 40°F (4°C). Hot temperatures can reduce the setting time, and warm water should be used in temperatures below 50°F (10°C). The cement should not be allowed to drop below freezing for 24 hours.

Q: Can this be used to fill vent holes in cold cellar?

    2 Answers
    • A: Yes it could. Depending on the size of the vent hole you might want to put something in the hole first and then apply the cement. This stuff expands as it cures and forms a tight bond with existing concrete. Of course you want to make sure the existing area has been cleaned of any loose concrete or debris to form a good bond. I have used it to stop water leaks in my basement foundation. Hope this helps.

Q: Is this a good way to fix a leaky basement sump? My concrete basement sump always empties and we get odors from the sewer pipe.

    2 Answers
    • A: Not sure what you are talking about. Only uses this on concrete. If odors come in.may need a check valve between pump and sewer pipe.if leak on pump ,there are products that can patch the sump. This product you asked about not for this .Hope this helps.

    1 Answer
    • A: No, this would not be the correct product to use for your project. To fill a hole in your foundation 13 inches deep we would recommend using High Strength Anchoring Epoxy. For further assistance please call 1-800-282-5828.

Q: What is the shelf life? Is there a date code on the package?.

    1 Answer
    • A: The normal shelf life of QUIKRETE cementitious products is one year after manufacture. This is dependent on the material having been stored in a cool, dry environment. If the product is in a sealed plastic container and the material has not been opened, the shelf life can be extended. If the material is free-flowing and lump free, it is useable. There should be a production code on the package.

Q: Is this good to make a fire pit with ?Durability wise that is

    1 Answer
    • A: QUIKRETE® Hydraulic Water-Stop Cement is designed to plug active leaks in masonry and achieves final set in 3-4 minutes. We do not recommend this product for fire pits. Standard concrete is suitable for the perimeter of the fire pit, but refractory brick and mortar should be used for the actual fire surfaces.

    1 Answer
