An extra grippy advanced silica compound improves safety, while its snow trapping longitudinal grooves are designed for better braking and added stability in inclement weather. Snow Peak Rated

The 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol indicates the tire is rated for Severe Snow Service. This is the acceptable standard for winter driving in Canada and provides improved safety on snow and ice.

Mud And Snow Rated

The M+S symbol differentiates an All-Season tire from a Summer only tire. While rated for light snow, they will not match a winter tire for traction or stopping distance on snow and ice.

Horrible tires for winter driving

These are a horrible gripping winter tire in the ice and snow. Few and not very deep sipes. Had these on a Dodge Charger, and drove my sister's AWD Volvo with these same tires and still slid all over.No better performance than a regular all season. After a couple seasons with low mileage, bought a different winter tire brand and kept these to burn off as a summer tire. My sister did the same. Stay away from these when looking for a proper winter tire.

These H-rated Pirelli Sotozero Series 2 winter tires are quiet and comfortable but have definitely not held up. They are on dedicated alloy rims which are installed in December and are switched out in March or early April. I have 2 cars and drive the one with Pirellis infrequently in the winter. In fact, since purchasing them at the end of 2015, I put less than 24000 Km (about 14500 miles) on them. Because of the wear, my mechanic (who does not sell tires) refused to install them this year as he says they now are unsafe.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Slippery, noisy, wear like butter

Pirelli Sottozero winter tires are the worst tires I have ever had on a car and this is a REAL review with 3 Quebec winters on a 2011 A4 Quattro. I am glad to get rid of them. Very close tread pattern prone to spin with ROUND EDGES prone to understeer in any depth of snow. You will be taking any corner at walking speed in snow. Noisy and wear out like butter (saw the tread bars in less than 20K). Ice grip is no better than our all season summer tires (I tried both on the same day). Our 2003 A4 Quattro had Pirelli Winter Carving tires and they stuck like staples. My FWD passat with department store Goodyear Nordic tires grip, steer, stop, and track better than these at 1/4 the price. You should not even sell them let alone recommend them.
