I have bought more expensive cords that have twisted and split. This cord is solid and has not twisted like my previous cords. I also like the 'locking' end. It means I can't unplug by accident.

Q: CAN this one use for vehicle block Heater??

A: Item 052-2311 is a 32’ 9” 14/3 SJTW locking cord. This is a 15 Amp rated cord. This cord should be sufficient for the application noted in the question above. As with any extension cord, the block heater electrical ratings should be noted to ensure that overloading of the cord does not occur.

Q: How could Canadian Tire be advertising and selling extension cord at a certain price without letting the buyers know the length of the cord???? Do they need the customers to ask for it a thousand times before they will include it on the description? Or .

A: The available sizes are indicated in the drop down menu on the right hand size. Currently we have the 49' 2" ( Product #052-2312-2 ) and the 98' 4" ( Product #052-2384-0 ) available. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact your local Canadian Tire store.

Q: Suitable for an ac unit that uses 10amps?

A: The extension cord is rated for loads up to 15 Amps / 125VAC / 1875 Watts. However, there are devices that warn specifically against the use of extension cords, like the Kenmore Window AC unit, LG AC units, portable heaters and Electric Car Charging stations. As we do not know the specifics of your AC unit, you will need to follow the instructions provided with the AC unit.

A: The product is cUL rated which means that it is UL tested to the CSA standard. This is the standard for extension cords.

Q: What is the amp rating for the 98ft cord The information does not change depending on the length but it says it is a 14ga cord even at 98ft

Q: re 52-2312-2...your features say, 'Flexible cord down to -40 degrees makes it easier to use', but the only review says, "It becomes very stiff and hard to use when the plastic becomes cold." Please advise which statement is correct as I live in an area where temperatures can go to -40. Thanks, Ritchie

A: All Noma CSA approved outdoor cords are tested to -40C degrees. The cords undergo a cold bend test at that temperature to ensure there is enough flexibility in the cord so that no breakage occurs. However, all plastics become less flexible and pliable as the temperature gets colder. -40C is extremely cold and the limit of CSA's cold temperature testing. While this cord has some flexibility at -40C, it is less when compared to use at -10 degrees.

Q: Can this extension cord be used with a snowblower?

A: It can be used for an electric snow blower if needed, however it is not flexible when it gets cold. As a result becomes very stiff and hard to use. There are other cords out there that remain flexible even in the cold, those should be used for winter applications.
