Outdoor extension cord

Recommended that the bird bath heater for the winter should be on an outdoor extension cord. This worked out to be the perfect length needed plus I have the option of adding 2 other electrical items. Will work great for Christmas lights.

Q: Does "outdoor" mean it is waterproof/no risk of electrical shock?

A: It is waterproof but I wouldn’t go as far as saying there is no electrical shock. There will definitely be an electrical shock if you are not careful. I wouldn’t submerge it in water. I use my cords all year round in my garden and they are outside exposed to rain and all the other elements.

A: Hello, The extension cord can be used as long as consumers follow the precautions listed in the cautions and warnings that are attached to the extension cord which is located 12 inches of the male plug. Don’t forget to check cautions that are provided with the devices that are being connected to the extension cord as they might have restrictions that pertain to the use of extension cords. Q: Can this extension cord be used for plugging in cars?

A: The 052-2424 is not a good choice for connection to a block heater, however you might look at item 052-2410, NOMA Blue 16'5"(5m) Block Heater Cord, Banana with the Lighted End. Also be sure to check the owner’s manual of the car or block heater to ensure that you comply with all safety cautions and warning as well as those published with the extension cord to ensure safe use of the cord.

Q: I have several white and green noma extension cords but I don't know which ones are for outdoors how can I tell?

A: The markings on the cord/wire itself will help determine the application. As a general rule if the marking on the cord has a “W” it is rated for outdoor use, such a SJTW, PXWT,STW,SJOW etc. Cords that are meant for indoor use only would be marked as SJT,SPT-2,SPT-3 etc. 052-2424-6 is indeed PXWT wire which is outdoor rated.
