Q: Not getting any suction. I’ve tried plugging various holes, but no luck. Makes a terrible gasping sound, and air is being expelled from one of the the top holes ,but no suction….so, something is leaking somewhere. Very disappointing. No instructions.
3 years agoA: Make sure the brass ring around the pump lever shaft is seated in it's place inside the lid. Mine popped out (likely on too long of an pump upstroke) and I also lost all vacuum. Just needs to be pushed back in.

Q: is this oil extractor good for outboard engines?.
5 years agoA: Yes, this MotoMaster Manual Fluid Extractor can be used for onboard engines. The extractor is ideal for extracting/changing oils and lubricants from motor vehicles, motor bikes, marine engines, small air crafts and generators. However, please note that the extractor cannot be used with gasoline or diesel.

Q: Let's say I use it for oil, and then want to use it for coolant. Is it possible to clean it? If so, how?
a year agoA: I am not sure how you would open to clean the pump. Are you thinking to re-use the coolant? If not, then there is probably no need to clean. You will have to take the fluid to a recycle place for disposal. If you want to reuse the coolant, then I would get a separate unit to make sure that three is zero contamination.

Q: Is it possible to take the unit apart and get access to the internals? The black tube inside came off or unscrewed and no longer works.
2 years agoA: Yes, it comes apart. I used gas and it pulled the o ring off the pumping cylinder. There's a rubber bumper ring, then a screw down ring that holds the pumping section down into the cansiter (think of those river rafting dry barrels) then the pump comes out and all the parts are exposed. the bottom of the cylinder housing comes off with care, the tube in the bottom can be carefully twisted straightas you turn the bottom nut. careful! there's a spring inside to work the valve.

Q: i just got one of these and the cap that holds hose to the unit doesn't fit over tube adapter if i take threaded cap off hose it will screw to tank perfectly the adapter just won't fit past threads and i lost receipt already got for a present
2 years agoA: I had the same issue came to the conclusion that the cap does not hold the hose adapter on tight it is held in by friction but if you unscrew the cap it does help you get the hose adapter off then you can use any spout from a jerry can to pour out the old gas

Q: Is the siphon hose long enough for a Mercedes SL600 V12. I know the capacity is smaller than the engine, figured I would drain and repeat

4 years agoA: This MotoMaster Fluid Extractor has generic compatibility with internal combustion engines. While we do not have a confirmed list of year/make/model compatibility, we do expect it will be suitable for your use.

Q: Is there adaptor hose in the box for syphon bleeding brakes?
4 years agoA: No, there isn't an adaptor hose to bleed the brakes. You need a different piece of equipment to bleed them under pressure. But you could use it to suck out the brake fluid reservoir. Then just bleed the brakes manually with someone to clean the lines.
