Worked great for about an hour,

I bought this on sale awhile ago, never used it until last week as I only have one 12v outlet and it had more important things to do. So, I finally hardwired it so I could charge my laptop, it worked for about an hour charging my laptop and somehow burnt up. It worked good when it did, now it's just a regret.

No, I do not recommend this product.

This babe works great. Bought it cause my wifi wasn’t working and I needed a way to update Fortnite on my ps4. Bought this, drove to McDonald’s parking-lot hooked it up to my VW Jettas battery and she powered my ps4 and the monitor, no problem at all.

Q: Can this be used on a On demand Hot water tank to power it when there is a power outage?

2 Answers
  • A: There's a power limit in Kw for the equipment. you have to check the water tank and see if it's not stronger than the converter, otherwise it won't work

Q: Where can I buy cables? Broke my cable that runs from the inverter to my cigarette lighter. Where can I purchase another? Also, anyone know the specs of the cables (wire gauge?)

2 Answers
  • A: The specification for cigarette plug cable is 18AWG, and for clamp cable can be 8AWG or 6AWG. All cables are available by calling the vendor’s after-sale service, please call the toll free helpline 1-877-466-3191 to obtain one.

Q: i have an 800 w inverter, will it run an in car heater

2 Answers
  • A: Depends on the car heater wattage demands. You have to pay attention to "Continuous" (not Peek or Surge) wattage supplied by inverter, and the wattage required by the heater. If the wattage of appliance is equal to the inverters continuous wattage, then you need a much bigger inverter as running the inverter at it's full capacity will eventualy burn out the unit. Inverter should always have atleast 25% more capacity than what is required by the appliance. One last thing. Never wire any inverters, unless 150W or smaller, thru a fuse box/cigarette lighter. Cigarette lighter is wired thru thin wiring causing large voltage and current drop, resulting in wiring overheating, restricting inverters output and eventualy pre-mature failure. Any inverters, 200W-1000W should be wired with no less than 4 gauge wire, directly to the battery. Keep your ground wire, thick 4+ gauge, and short. Don't forget to fuse your positive at the battery.

Q: What AWG wire connects the battery to the inverter? Is it just 1 wire per terminal or 2?

2 Answers
  • A: Use 4 gauge or thicker, for positive and negative. Remember to keep your negative as short as possible and ground it well to good location on the chassis. Make sure you have a fuse on the positive supply wire at the battery.

Q: what is the maximum amperage this is good for?

2 Answers
  • A: Amperage is meaningless in inverter applications. Amperage is dependant on current draw at certain voltage. For example, 100W bulb @ 120V AC will draw less than 1 A VAC. Same bulb @ 13.5VDC will draw over 7A VDC. True way to measure the output of inverter is in "CONTINUOUS WATTAGE". Never use the "SURGE or PEEK", as these wattage are only delivered for few miliseconds. This unit delivers around 700W-750W continuous. Make sure your appliance does not exceed 75% of the continuous wattage available from this unit. Exceeding or running the inverter at 100% continous wattage will result in overheating and premature unit failure. Keep in mind units this size must be wired correctly, directly to the battery using no less than 4 gauge wiring. Negative wire also no thinner than 4 gauge. Keep ground wire short and attached to good solid ground on the chassis. Positive wire must be fused at the battery. NEVER wire thru fuse box or cigarette lighter. Not only this will result in the unit not being able to deliver it's potential capacity, but also will result in overheating of cigarette lighter wiring #due to thin size of wiring#, overheating of inverter, and eventualy unit failure.

Q: What is the problem with all 12v inverters. Rarely we can find one that is good to use? I bought a 1200w, but it stop working at the third time use. There are a lot on the market with cheap pricing but most of them are unreliable,

1 Answer
  • A: It might be a problem the battery, which provides the power to the Inverter. The battery might in low voltage, such as lower than 10 V. Fully charge the battery firstly, then use it to power Inverter, hope this can help.
