Not a good booster and cheap button
I had this charger since 2 years and the 15/2/100 switch no longer working at position 15. Unit stop to early to charge (auto shut down) and the 100A booster not enough to boost a car

Cheaply made, not versatile
I've had the charger for many years and it has always been unreliable. Sometime I have to hit it with my fist to get it to start charging. The "auto" feature stops you from fully charging a 12 volt battery as it shuts off to early.
The 100amp boost works well.
I would not buy this product again.

Good charger but not a good engine starter

I have this unit in addition to a portable battery booster. Tried this twice when my booster was not available and neither time would it quickly start my car.. I had to let it charge for some time before it would work. works great as a charger bu that’s it

Cheap product
Purchased this 2 years ago and used only once. Needed it recently and noticed the switch for selecting charge/boost etc. was loose and pushed in (and not working). I opened the unit up and could not believe how cheaply the switch assembly was put together. The simplest knock or bump against it would be enough to have it come apart and it is close to impossible to put back and have it hold together. Unbelievable how such a critical component can be so poorly made. This is garage equipment and not fine china and should be built with a certain level of ruggedness.

Q: can I plugged it in my garage, it is not insulated. Will it work in the cold weather

A: The charger will work but charging in very cold temperature is very ineffective. You should allow the battery to warm up (ideally to room temperature) before attempting to charge it.

Q: I have the older version of this charger. (11-1571-8 CT-2100MA) The only technical difference seems to be that the switch on mine is marked as “Maintenance Free and Deep Cycle” instead of “Deep Cycle/AGM”. Can I charge my AGM battery with it?
2 Answers
A: We recommend you use the Conventional/Normal/Standard setting for an AGM battery, not the Maintenance-Free/Deep Cycle.

Q: can I charge a AGM battery without doing damage to the battery with this charger? There is a "maintenance free and deep cycle" selector but I don't know if that includes AGM batteries.

A: This battery charger can safely charge AGM batteries. We recommend you set the charger to Deep Cycle/AGM.

Q: I want to use this to charge my batteries while dry camping. If I plug this into my 1000W generator and put it on the 15 amp fast charge setting, will it charge a 12V battery at 8 amps?
2 Answers
A: Not recommended. You can run the charger with your generator but the output current will be 15amps. Note, that during the first step of charging a battery the charger current is constant and the battery voltage increases, which is normally during the first 80% of the recharge.

Q: My MotoMaster charger is now out of battery. How does it get charged itself?
2 Answers
A: This is a battery charger that doesn't need to be charged in order to use it. Plug the charger’s AC power cord into the AC outlet. With the charger plugged in and connected to the battery of the vehicle, set the charge rate selector switch to the appropriate position.

Hello, I would like to know if it can be damageable for the batteries and/or the charger if I let the charger connected to the batteries when the charger is not plugged in. I have 2 x 6v wet cell batteries in series.

A: it will not damage the batteries and/or the charger if let the charger connected to the batteries when the charger is not plugged in, but it will discharge the batteries over period of time.

A: ^^ This would good info to put in a Manual eh ?!?. I spent an hour or more trying to figure out if it was a supply voltage problem, extension cord/gauge/length, a dead-dead battery, maybe the charging clamp's loose, corrosion etc.
Would be a REALLY good thing to put this info in the manual.
